The album was produced by the Cooper Brothers and was engineered by Steve Foley. A year in the making, the album also includes guest appearances from Colin Cripps on guitar (Blue Rodeo), Ray Legere on fiddle and mandolin (The Band), and vocalist Rebecca Noelle. Radio Silence was recorded at Ottawa’s Audiovalley Studios with the Brothers’ live band, which includes Brian Cooper (vocals, guitar), Dick Cooper (guitar), Jeff Rogers (vocals, keyboards), Darwin Demers (guitar, vocals), Ed Bimm (keyboards and horn arrangements), Rob Holtz (drums) and John Steele (pedal steel and banjo). They also display on the new CD their “shit-kicking” and humourous Country side, with “Government Town,” which mockingly celebrates their home town of Ottawa, and the sardonic “Mister One Percent.” Radio Silence by Paranoir, released 14 June 2017 1. In many respects the album is a reflective and thoughtful one, and with outstanding melody-infused ballads like “End Of The Day,” “Follow Your Heart” and “Gone Are The Days,” The Cooper Brothers show their softer side, and it’s clear that they haven’t lost their deft musical and writing touch.
